Dr. Oscar E. Chavez is a veterinarian and Chief Medical Officer at Just Food For Dogs. Dr. Chavez graduated in 2006 from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London. He has previously served as Chief of Staff at Banfield, faculty at California State Polytechnic, and member of the Multidisciplinary Committee and the Registered Veterinary Technician Committee for the California State Veterinary Medical Board. Dr. Holly Ganz, PhD is a microbial Scientist and Founder of AnimalBiome. Holly received her PhD from University of California, Davis and conducted research at University California of Berkeley, University of California San Diego, the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and the University of California, Davis Genome Center. Holly realized that digestive disorders are common in cats and dogs and that the gut microbiome plays an important role in some of these conditions. She founded AnimalBiome in 2016 in order to create better diagnostics and therapeutics for cats and dogs.
Dr. Jonas Donner is a Research scientist and geneticist with a PhD in human medical genetics and disease risk variant characterization studies. His work history the field of companion animal (dog/cat) genetic testing, was key in shaping the future of personalized pet care and veterinary medicine. Dr. Donner currently works at Wisdom Health as Discovery Manager and recently published research on a gene variant responsible for neonatal interstitial lung disease in Airedale Terriers
Karishma has an MA in Philosophy (with a focus in animal ethics), along with multiple years of experience as Behavior Therapy Trainer at NYC’s most prestigious Dog Training Institutions. Karishma specializes in coaching her human clients in ethical animal leadership, and compassionate behavior modification. A former concert pianist, Karishma now enjoys spending time playing music and working with her own dogs, Heera and Oby.
Laisuna Yu graduated with a masters in Animal Behavior and Conservation from Hunter College in NYC. Her thesis evaluated pet dog and working dog performances in a visual discrimination reversal learning task. She was previously the Manager of The Thinking Dog Center in New York City.
